Rules for NMR Users

1. The NMR Laboratory has three rooms: one containing the two spectrometers (400 MHz and 600 MHz with cryoprobe) and the others for sample preparation and data processing.
The access to these rooms is made by card and must be previously authorized by the Management Commission. Without this permission it is forbidden to collect and process spectral data.

2. New users accessing the NMR Laboratory must prove that they will be able to collect spectra alone or should be trained by the already authorized users. Also, the acquisition of spectral data for the first time will be subject to the continuous monitorization of the supervisor (with previous experience in NMR) or the trainer.

3. Only the Management Commission is allowed to change probes. The probes can only be changed on the 400 MHz spectrometer. If an authorized user needs to use other probes, he/she must request it by e-mail to the Management Commission with 3 working days in advance

4. The 400 MHz spectrometer will work only in automatic mode through the SampleXpress. The acquisition in manual mode must be requested with 2 working days in advance to the Management Commission.

5. The 600 MHz spectrometer will work in automatic and semi-automatic modes through the SampleJet. The acquisition in manual mode must be requested with 2 working days in advance to the Management Commission.

6. The booking of the NMR spectrometers must be done on the calendars available online.

7. The use of cards, mobile phones, or any metal objects into the spectrometers room is strictly forbidden.

8. The use of spectrometers is subject to the rates table presented previously.

9. The use of consumables, equipment (centrifuges, pH meter, balance, etc) and supplies available in the NMR sample preparation room is restricted to the authorized users and cannot be removed from there.

10. The NMR tubes and consumables taken from the stock of the NMR laboratory, after authorization, will be charged on the user’s account.
